Thomas Carson is a dreamer but his dreams aren’t coming to reality. Ashamed of being a failure in his girlfriend Darbye's eyes, he contemplates suicide, but a phone call saves his life.
The love Thomas and Darbye have for each other is passionate and exciting. However, Darbye notices a change in Thomas’s behavior and wants to know if he’s cheating on her. She enlists the help of her best friend to find out if he’s cheating and the outcome may be more than she bargained for.
THIS IS WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR by Jerald Howard is a riveting story of love and trust. It also sends a powerful message that faith endures all; whatever is going on in your life, you have to work at it with faith and belief.
I enjoyed reading this novel for many reasons. The characterization and pictorial scenes are the essence which give the novel life. Readers will be hypnotized by Howard’s rhythmic style of writing. Humorous moments are strategically placed where tension arises and the poetry at the end of the novel are from scenes within.
If you’re looking for a quick read with drama and humor, I recommend reading this novel.
