THE SOUL OF A COLORED WOMAN is a book of poems inspired by Hudson's religious background. She imparts her messages with four distinct categories: At The Heart Of The Family, Soul Stirring, Untamed Ebony Tongue, and After Thoughts.
The basic theme of the poetry is universal, it's about family, love, inspiration, and life's challenges. Coupled with her personal experiences Hudson hopes her words will capture the attention of a diverse group of people.
THE SOUL OF A COLORED WOMAN is reflective and thought-provoking. It gives hope and feelings of love. Here is an excerpt from one of the poems, 'PSALMS 23'; "I asked her if she knew a man named Christ, who died on the cross and paid the price?" Hudson would love for this to be a tool and a guide for anyone willing to be filled with goodness.
