Say A Little Prayer

Twenty years ago Chauncey Greer’s career ended when the manager of his singing group outed him after finding out about an ongoing affair with a fellow band mate.  He was able to find success again in the form of his own greeting card company, but was never able to truly get over his first love.  After a powerful message from his pastor, Chauncey decides to give singing a second chance by singing in his church.  After his soulful performance, his pastor asks him to sing at the upcoming church revival.

However, the gay and lesbian community of the church is planning to boycott the revival due to the speaker, Bishop Upchurch, whose main platform is against the homosexual lifestyle.  A blast from the past appears giving Chauncey the perfect opportunity to help the gay fight and seek revenge for the pain of his youth. Chauncey finds himself having to make a hard choice between his love and devotion to his church and pastor, his pride for his community, and the unfinished business of his one true love.

E. Lynn Harris does it again with SAY A LITTLE PRAYER.  This page-turner reveals a part of the African-American community many choose to ignore: the intolerance of the homosexual community in the church.  This is not a typical E. Lynn book. This is not another extension of the Raymond and Basil love affair, even though two past favorites, Basil and Yancey do make small cameo appearances. Never fear fans,  it does give  updates on the storylines that we love, while introducing you to new characters you will love and want to know more about as well.   You will find yourself engaged in the life of Chauncey, wanting to laugh, cry, get revenge and pray right along with him.
