SACRIFICE, book 2 of the Demon Hunter Series places readers back in the life of Elijah Garland, the Protector. He is still struggling to find some meaning in the destiny he inherited after his death. Elijah's lineage is not ordinary; his mother was human, but his father was the Arch Angel, Gabriel.

Elijah, who is currently working with the FBI, is in a precarious condition. His need to be with Ebonee Lane (who is also his partner in the bureau), his overwhelming desire to keep her safe, and the confusion surrounding his destiny are threatening his sanity. Ebonee's life was put in jeopardy when she was used as bait to capture him. Elijah who has battled with his spirituality all of his life, changed once he was killed and resurrected. But, his latest confrontations, with demons, have challenged his faith again, and has him thinking he should get away from Ebonee for her own safety. Before he resolves his dilemma, Ebonee's soul is imprisoned by one of the original fallen angels, Shemhazai. Shemhazai wants his freedom from the four celestial guardians who stand watch over his tomb. He also wants revenge on the Protector, who banished him from mankind. The solution to Elijah's problems is buried deep in the bowels of Egypt.

Elijah's search will pair him with an American and an Egyptian excavator who may be the last defenses against the resurrection of a sinister evil. They will journey to the sacred tomb of an Egyptian King which carries 'the mark of Gabriel'. Along with the dangers surrounding their infiltration of the tombs, Elijah is being stalked by a very human nemesis who wants to destroy him. Elijah will have to empower his faith and believe God will give him the power to withstand, if he is to save himself and rescue Ebonee from the clutches of the demon Dalfien.

SACRIFICE is the perfect title for a book which tests the characters' resiliency as they make unworldly decisions and ultimate sacrifices. The story is an adventure that captures two worlds, with characters who dare to live in both. Readers will desperately hope their sacrifices will catapult them to that precipice where light rules darkness. SACRIFICE bears an uncanny revelation of the spiritual realm, and T.L. Gardner seems to be shaping his own destiny. This will hold you captive for as long as you can hang on.
