The minute Andi McFadden, a striving television producer, laid eyes upon the sexiest man she’s ever seen at her boss’s annual Christmas bash, she wanted him but she had her rules. He is Harley Joseph, one of the hottest and sexiest actors in town, and her first rule was not to join the line of women who had been in his or any other actor’s bed. Unfortunately, for Andi, Harley also wanted her and she did something she never thought she would. She had a one-night stand, and not just any one-night stand, her first. Holcomb didn’t waste any time getting to a hot sex scene. After the intense ride, you are left wondering; what was so special about this guy to make Andi step outside her norm? Fast forward two months; Harley and Andi find themselves together once again, but this time she’s his boss. The spark is still there and things slowly heat up again. Will it cause tension with the rest of the cast?
This storyline alone is enough to keep your attention throughout the book but there are others just as interesting. For instance, Andi is curious about who Harley really is after she visits his home and notice a vast library in his bedroom. Why is he hiding or keeping books in his bedroom? Another question is who are these young teenagers hanging around him and why does his hairdresser stay with him? The last storyline deals with Andi’s mother, Minx, an ex-blaxploitation movie actress, and her unknown father. Andi has never searched for her father but eventually she finds out who he is. Will she be happy about the reunion and what will her mother have to say about it?
MORNING STAR kept my attention from beginning to end with the interesting storylines and the really hot love-making scenes, which weren’t over the top. Holcomb did a great job with the character and plot development. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by Roslyn Holcomb.
