She is a neat freak, she can’t stand to have anyone touch her things and the voice in her head is constantly tormenting her. Joy is living with her while she attends college and manages Autumn’s beauty shop, Killer Do’s. Joy’s boyfriend, Ricky, seems to always upset Autumn’s way of doing things, and he does want to marry Joy. Nobody, not even Joy’s mother, thinks this is a good idea, but Joy is determined to do it anyway.Joy discovers Autumn’s secret, a deadly one, and it frightens her. She knows she must get away as fast as she can but she’s afraid to tell Autumn she will be moving. She enlists Ricky to help her move while Autumn is at the shop. Will it work? Cole, a homicide detective, comes into the shop for a manicure. He and Autumn seem to have an attraction for each other. Cole is trying to get over a past relationship. Can Autumn fill the bill? BROKEN by Robin Ayele is a first class thriller guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering where it will all end. From the prologue to the final word, there is action, tension and suspense. Ayele develops her characters so well you never even question their actions. I am looking forward to her next book.
