True Friendship Never Dies!

Set in beautiful San Diego, California, the story, A VIOLET BUTTERFLY, written by Mae Turner, tells of the bond of six friends who met in college and forged a strong relationship until growth, new relationships, love and life changes severed their union. Then as these women began to deal with the various issues that led them into their separate lives and careers, they found themselves re-evaluating their previous decisions as they experienced pain, jealousy, broken hearts and broken spirits.

Due to the various twists and turns, havoc, and suspense, I kept anxiously turning the pages to find out what would happen next. Mae Turner is a fine writer who addressed a variety of issues that were timely and helpful, including domestic violence, low self-esteem, and lifestyle choices. Written in a clear and engaging voice, with exceptional characterizations in vivid settings, it will be easy for readers to find messages that stimulate their thought processes and produce helpful lessons to apply to everyday relationships. The story was well-written, interesting, and so real it kept me burning the midnight oil. I could not put it down. The behavior patterns of Jaxie, Hallie, Lynette, Anissa, Renee, and Tabitha were reflective of many readers who may choose to read this particular book, which clearly demonstrated that even when problems alienate friends, true friendships never dies, no matter what happened to pull them apart. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work.
