Learning to forgive
WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN by LaConnie Taylor-Jones explores the mindset of Victoria Bennett, a nursing administrator, who has been severely hurt by one man and is being pursued by A. J. Baptiste. He is a handsome pediatrician who won’t take ‘no’ for an answer. As a result, he and Vic, as she prefers to be called, fight constantly. He has nicknamed her Honey and that irritates her, also. One evening, after a run-in with him, Vic leaves a party and rushes to her car, driving around for hours. Finally, sitting at a stoplight, she ignores the light three times as it changes. As she starts to move, a car rear ends her, forcing her into the intersection and into a motorcycle rider who ends up badly injured on the street. Imagine her horror when she identifies the rider. As Zack, Baptiste’s brother-in-law, pursues the hit-and-run driver, things heat up. Will Baptiste’s love survive all the drama? Will it change Vic’s mind about love?
LaConnie Taylor-Jones’s novel, WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN, is a combination of love and suspense. There are enough of both to keep the reader interested in both plots. There are many characters, but each stands out with his/her own personality, which makes it easy to keep them separate. It also offers good advice on forgiveness and moving on. I would recommend this book for lovers of romance, as well as suspense.
