Paralegal Dahlia Ray has just finished an exhausting, but profitable case and needs a serious get-away. The annual jazz festival, in Winter Park, Colorado is just the ticket. She and her two best friends are settling down in their cabin for some satisfying R&R. Well, Dahlia just wants to relax; her girls are on the prowl. Having had her share of heartaches Dahlia is currently turned off about romance.
Then she meets Jackson Bell, a Denver Broncos star, and what starts out as flirtatious conversation turns into a weekend of fun and lust. Still, Dahlia is not overwhelmed, most of the weekend Jackson is surrounded by expectant females. Plus, the sexual attraction between them is too good to mean anything more than a satisfying weekend. Dahlia is back at home and has not heard from Jackson in over three weeks, and then he does the unexpected.
UNEXPECTED is a refreshing tale of young professionals who are serious about life. The characters are believable and Ms. Johnson uses this very short story in a way that makes it feel like more.
