UNAUTHORIZED by Shelia Goss and John Wooden is a fast-paced suspense novel about Michael Henderson, a detective in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and Rachel Murphy, an investigative reporter. Michael feels that death is following him around and Rachel has written some rough news stories about his investigations, but in order to solve a murder that has happened, they will have to work together. It is one of Michael's friends who was killed in his apartment. Michael was supposed to go there for dinner and instead, he finds a body.

Right from the beginning, they have issues. Can they bury them and move on to solve the mystery? Rachel has friends who pass information on to her and it is information that can help Michael.

Shelia Goss and John Wooden wrote an exceptional mystery. It moves fast and even when you think you know who did it, check again. There is never a dull moment in the book. It moves quickly and the characters are very well developed. Michael and Rachel are two wonderful people who will have to learn to work together - that is, if they want to solve the mystery. Mystery solving is what both their jobs are about. It is a book you just can't put down until you know who did it. It is a one-sitting read.
