It’s strange how siblings can be raised in the same home, taught the same morals and values, but choose different paths in life.  Take for instance brothers, Trey and Clyde Lancaster.  Trey wants the best things life has to offer and worked very hard to become the most successful man in Paradise Bay.  On the other hand, Clyde becomes overshadowed by Trey’s accomplishments and chooses a life of crime, which lands him in prison.

Being the most successful man in Paradise Bay has awarded Trey wealth and respect.  His marriage to a lovely and beautiful former model completes his life.  But when he confesses to an affair, his marriage is plagued with grief and heartache, and forgiveness doesn’t look promising.

Clyde is released from prison and is on the road to a new beginning.  His brother invites him into his home and lends him a helping hand to get back on his feet.  Reluctantly Clyde accepts his brother’s offer, but he’s met with opposition from Trey’s wife.  Soon a one night stand between Clyde and his sister-in-law covers him in guilt.

THE SECRETS OF PARADISE BAY held me in a vise from the beginning to the end.  As Archer skillfully portrayed the unsettled issues between the brothers, while the heartfelt emotions of Trey’s wife had me feeling sorry for her.  The secrets were great added ingredients to beef up the suspense.  A nice summertime read!
