Brianna Mayfield is a woman on a mission. She wants to destroy the Banks family and their company, JB Savings and Loan. She has long held them responsible for her father’s demise. He was denied several business loan attempts from JB Savings and Loan that would have allowed him to compete with the bigger grocery store chains and as result it appeared he lost his will to live with the lost of the business. Brianna became the family’s champion in seeing that her father’s tormentor would receive just retribution for what he did. The only thing, Jack Banks is now dead. Now she focuses her plan for revenge on his nephew, Jacob “Jake” Banks, who owns a company financed by JB Savings and Loan and where Brianna now works, both openly and covertly.
Jake Banks is the owner of Banks Telecom and is one of Texas’ wealthiest bachelors. However, unbeknownst to many, his company is on the brink of financial disaster. Unexplainable project failures have been dogging the company. Without some cash soon, it is possible that many employees will lose their jobs. His only option is to do what his uncle requested in his will—marry Brianna Mayfield. So he pays her boyfriend off, offers her a million dollars for a year and now the fun begins. What happens to Brianna’s revenge plot? Will she get caught red-handed? Or, will Jake be able to soften her heart? Then again, she could drive him crazy in the process.
HIS INVISIBLE WIFE by Shelia Goss is an entertaining and touching read about love, lies, revenge and family. I consumed this book in one sitting and did not want to let go of the warm and fuzzy feeling I got after I finished. By the book’s end I was reminded of a scripture that says “...because love covers over a multitude of sins.” Goss demonstrated the power of love over all the bad things we can do. Her writing was succinct and very uplifting. I enjoyed meeting all the characters, for many of them seemed to have a story lurking nearby. This is a good one to add to your collection.
