Ravon and Clifton have been married for many years. With the exception of a brief fling while dating Ravon, Clifton has never strayed from the marriage. He loves her and vows to make her happy by doing what he has to do. He begins, however, to realize there is a serious disconnect in his marriage and suspects Ravon may be tipping out. Nothing seems to add up with her and how she spends her time. She and her friends have racked up some serious time in attendance at the new club in town. When Clifton reaches his breaking point with Ravon, he crosses into territory he may not be able to come back from.
Ravon, on the other hand, has needs that require a little more attention and Cliffy isn’t quite filling the bill. With the opening of The Lounge, she meets someone who helps her meet those needs with reckless abandon. Only a momentary thought is given to Clifton and their marriage. It’s all about Ravon and getting her freak on. Her new boy toy is turning her out in ways she never could have imagined and has her taking chances she never dreamed she would take. But, is there something underhanded going on? Is someone else in the background orchestrating things?
In EYES CLOSED, WHISPERS THRU THE DARK, Maxie Ojai Bell takes readers on a trip focusing on the licentious behavior of a woman, wife and mother who wants to experience more sexually, and will do anything to get it. Bell definitely entices and captures the reader’s mind as he delves into the characters and their motives as the plot plays out. The ending left me speechless and quite upset, but longing to know what happens later. Although a good read, I felt this book could have used a little more editorial tightening. Bell is definitely a new author to watch; his series could become one addictive, wild ride.
