In today’s economy whether it’s a family of four or a single person, people are always looking for ways to stretch a dollar at the dinner table.  Fisher serves up delicious menus in, DINING WITH THE DIVA DOLLAR with affordable meals of ingredients bought with a dollar or less.  As a single parent on a strict budget, she had to learn to stretch her dollar.  She began shopping at discount food stores where ingredients cost a dollar and supermarkets that offered 10 for $10 food items.

The cookbook is divided into four categories with a space for notes at the end of each category.  Sprinkled throughout the cookbook are diva tidbits, ingredient substitutions, and the directions, which are very easy to follow.  Who would have thought a can of biscuits had so many uses?  As I read through this delectable gem, I couldn’t help but to bookmark the recipes I anticipate to try, especially the Butterfinger Brownies.  Fisher adds a lot of humor and with love named recipes after family and friends.

DINING WITH THE DOLLAR DIVA: Divalicious Menus with Ingredients Costing a $1 or Less has found a home among my collection of cookbooks.  I recommend this cookbook for the beginner and experienced cook.
