Marriage is hard work and both husband and wife must have a desire to make it a success. But when the sanctity of marriage is under attack from outside forces, do you let go and let God?
Carson and Katharine O’Connor exhibit qualities in a marriage most people crave: understanding, honesty, love, success, and most of all they're belief in God. However, their love and commitment toward each other and their faith in God will be tested. Suddenly Carson informs Katharine he’s leaving her because he’s bored with her appearance. Saddened by her husband’s hurtful confession, Katharine vows to do whatever it takes to make her marriage solid again; she opts for cosmetic surgery. To make matters worse, voluptuous Cindy Lomax flirtatiously flaunts in front of him; a reminder of his wife's lost beauty and sex appeal. Meanwhile, Carson is sharing living arrangements with Cindy and her 11-year-old daughter, unaware he is the one chosen to fulfill their lost happiness.
DESIRES OF THE HEART is a compelling story of self-love and the desire of God’s love. Each character yearns for something special to come into their lives. Beverly Taylor interweaves several topics to make DESIRES OF THE HEART an enjoyable story; however, I felt an unbalance in the flow of the story. Some areas were rushed and some areas were slow drawing me in.
